About Me

My graduate and undergraduate studies were done at the University of North Dakota with a major in Industrial Technology and a minor in Management. My first professional employment was as a Logistics Engineer with General Dynamics in San Diego, California where I wrote manuals on maintaining the Tomahawk cruise missile. Later, I developed the repair analysis for the cruise-missile system in the European theater. Next, I moved to “working” at something I loved, woodworking. I started as the how-to editor with Better Homes and Gardens WOOD magazine, and rose in the ranks to Managing Editor over my 27-year career. Today my only official title is that as a Dallas County Conservation Board Member.  I enjoy assisting with volunteer projects through the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, and other conservation organizations. If you have a project in mind, please let me know.
